Gunaketu will present highlights from his chapter in the book “Religion, Sustainability and Education – pedagogy, perspectives, and praxis towards ecological sustainability” during the online Triratna Earth Sangha conference
Taking the five common ethical guidelines most Buddhists around the world share, Gunaketu shows how these can be used to work on five of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG): 1) Practice love to reduce inequality – UNSDG 10; 2) Not taking the not given by pursuing sustained, inclusive and sustainable growth in happiness (rather than economic growth), full and productive employment and decent work for all: A modified UNSDG 8; 3) Practicing contentment to ensure no poverty or hunger for anyone – UNSDG 1&2; 4) Communication for partnership – UNSDG 17. 5) Mindfulness 3.0 for sustainable cities and communities – UNSDG 11.
This presentation is part of the weekend online conference: A Wisdom as Vast as the Ocean: Embodying Interdependence…
